Minister of Social Development Lindiwe Zulu has said that there should be more social workers than police in the country. She said that the country is plagued by social ills and unemployment.
The minister was quoted as saying:
"When social work graduates are absorbed into the economy of South Africa, we are assured that the intensity of social ills will be weakened!"
Mzansi social media users have had mixed reactions about the comment. Facebook user Dr-Maxico Le-Dust Nyambose said:
"I pray for those in charge of the Department to provide employment opportunities to social work graduates who have been unemployed for decades."
While Lwazi Nyathi said:
"You will also preach this until your term is finished. The only thing you good at is taking pictures."
Tourbarnny Duncan Zoongoo said:
"Hopefully that will also increase high quality of the network system."
Vuyolwethu Nkunkuma Qaba said:
