Nomvula Mokonyane made a surprising appearance at the funeral of Gavin Watson today. Mokonyane was implicated in allegedly having received bribes from the BOSASA mogul in exchange for her political influence.
The former environmental affairs minister Nomvula Mokonyane paid tribute to BOSASA CEO Gavin Watson at his memorial service today.
Briefly.co.za reported earlier that former BOSASA executive Angelo Agrizzi had claimed Mokonyane received bribes from the company in exchange for her favor and influence.
The allegations apparently did little to sway Mokonyane from attending the service in honour of Watson, which took place this morning.
The minister told Watson's family that they will never be forgiven for their perceived image, likening Gavin to Jesus Christ.
Mokonyane heralded Watson as a symbol of faith and hope, with the late CEO lauded as a man of God. Her address appeared to be well-received by those in attendance, who broke out into applause and song after her brief speech.
