- Bafana Bafana forward Percy Tau is set to face European Powerhouses Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG)
- Tau’s team, Club Brugge, were drawn with the 2 super clubs for the group stages of the UEFA Champions League
- Brugge triumphed over LASK 2-1 to secure their spot in the group stages
South African football followers were excited to learn that Bafana Bafana forward Percy Tau would play in the UEFA Champions League this season.
Briefly.co.za earlier reported on Tau’s heroics for Belgian side, Club Brugge, as they gained entry into the group stages of the tournament.
Tau’s impact off the bench helped to secure a 2-1 victory over LASK to ensure that the dream stays alive.
As much as playing in the Champions League is every player’s dream, the prospect of facing one of the super clubs can be a daunting one.
Following the draw on Thursday, Tau is set to face off against two European giants in Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
Real Madrid need no introduction as the Galacticos are arguably the biggest club in the world and PSG boast some world-class attacking talent in the form of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.
The fourth spot in the group belongs to Turkish giants Galatasaray and it will take an uphill battle for Brugge to qualify for the next round.
However, Brugge would at least be aiming for a respectable third-placed finish to qualify for the Europa League.
Wherever Brugge finish, the tournament promises to be an exciting one for Mzansi as Tau rubs shoulders with Europe’s elite.
