A woman has shared a story of how her father had to discipline her cousin after she refused to prepare breakfast. The cousin said that she would not move an inch because there was a makoti in the house.

Twitter user Iviwe_08 shared the story on social media, saying:

"My cousin was told to go prepare breakfast and she said she won't do that while there's a makoti in the house (my brother's wife). My father put her in her place real quick. He legit told her that she's someone's wife, not a slave. She's not here to nurse anyone"

"We (women) need to change. We need to stop being monsters to omakoti-they're really not there for us. They're human beings too, we can't be treating them like slaves and expect them to do everything while we sit there and gossip"

"Dad’s like that are awesome. The husbands must also set boundaries and inform their families that they did not bring them maids. Big ups"

"I'm more interested to where did she get this mentality...this attitude...she learned this somewhere. I'm interested in the source of this learned behaviour"
