Man shares pain after cars burnt: “I’m married to a South African”

We regularly read about xenophobic attacks, but it can sometimes be hard to relate to the victims' ordeals when one is far removed from the situation.

A heart-breaking social media post shared greater detail on the impact that some of these attacks have.

A Nigerian man took to Twitter to share a short video clip and explained that three of his vehicles were burnt for no reason.

What saddened him even more is the fact that he’s married to a South African woman, yet he is still not accepted in the country.

The cars were used in his small business as he buys and sells vehicles to supplement his income.

Thaddeus (@Beatitudes1040) shared the tweet on Tuesday and thousands have already reacted to the post.

Many foreigners expressed their outrage and despair at the situation within Mzansi.

Nigerian based photographer (@kali_Editz) commented, “I hope you and your family are safe! Please talk to your wife so she won't break down! And please find a way and get back to Nigeria! God be with you bro.”
Bongza (@justbongza) said, “This is so wrong and we do not condone it. I think its time that people point out where the real criminals stay because innocent people get affected by all this.”
I am Seyi (@Emmanuelmarks2) asked, “So you even marry a South African woman and they still digd this evil to you??? This more than hatred.”
Fela's Son (@slimTeeIX) responded, “The Xenophobic SA men can't even relate to the "take care of my wife" part. They beat up and murder their women at will. #Xenophobia.”
