- Julius Malema has responded to the recent attacks on foreign nationals in South Africa
- The Economic Freedom Fighters leader insists that the anger on display is directed towards the wrong people
- Taking to social media, Malema argued that those targeting fellow Africans should focus on the real enemy: White monopoly capital
EFF leader Julius Malema has shared his views on the current spate of xenophobic attacks in South Africa.
Taking to social media, Malema urged citizens to rethink their actions, commenting that:
"Our anger is directed at wrong people. Like all of us, our African brothers & sisters are selling their cheap labour for survival. The owners of our wealth is white monopoly capital; they are refusing to share it with us & the ruling party ANC protects them."
Briefly.co.za reported that the recent protests in Gauteng have garnered attention from other African nations after foreign nationals were targeted.
In another post, Malema once again insisted that those taking part in the violence are directing their anger towards the wrong people, saying:
"I think these whites must for a second keep quiet because we are dealing with a mess created by them. They are the ones who created this situation by telling us that we are poor & unemployed because ”foreigners” took our jobs. We are fighting for crumbs."
