George Lebese took to social media to write a heartfelt farewell message to his 383 000 Instagram followers.

Lebese was released from the Mamelodi Sundowns on the final day of the 2019/20 pre-season transfer window on Monday.

The former Bafana Bafana forward was at The Brazilians for a year and a half, but he spend the last six months of season on loan at SuperSport United, The Sowetan reported.

Briefly.co.za learned that Lebese revealed that the decision to ask Sundowns management to let him go was a tough one.

However, he said after assessing the risks and possible outcomes, he concluded that it was the right decision to make.

Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za reported Sundowns have registered 6 more players as the transfer window closed on Monday.

Aside from Lebese, Sibusiso Khumalo has also been released. Aubrey Ngoma, Lucky Mohomi and Jose Ali Meza are among those who have been recalled to the squad.
