It's been a difficult time for women in South Africa lately. After the news of Uyinene's tragic passing and many other similar stories of women being attacked by men, Mzansi ladies have taken to social media to share survival tips. Briefly.co.za gathered a few of the best tips.
1. Buy a gun
Twitter user Esspresso_Qwabe said the best thing for women right now is buying a gun
2. Trust your intuition
"Trust your intuition. It will never lie to you. If you feel uneasy about where you are, who you're with and etc, believe that feeling. It will save your life"
MsKelebogile agreed, saying:
"If your gut tells you to run , run"
3. Be careful with the company you keep
Twitter user Uvho95 said:
"Never go out drinking and get wasted with someone you don't trust"
4. Limit your accessibility online
Orathabile said that women should make security a priority. This can be done by limiting sharing too much information on social media, especially location.
5. Don't depend on a man
Twitter user Janinebuhle said:
"Don’t depend on a man be it financially or emotionally"
Briefly.co.za previously reported that former First Lady Tobeka Madiba Zuma offered a personal prayer on social media. She prayed for peace and safety in this trying time in the country.
