40-year old comedian Kevin Hart is recuperating after suffering injuries in a horrific car crash.

He was the passenger in a classic Plymouth Barracuda driving along the Malibu's Mulholland Highway when the car plummeted off the highway and landed in a ditch.

From photos doing rounds on social media, the vehicle was totally wrecked with the roof part unrecognisable.

With his worldwide fans taking to social media with messages of goodwill and quick recovery, The Rock went a step further by heading home mid-honeymoon for the sake of Hart.

The hospitalised comedian was set to feature in an interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show but because of his accident, he inevitably missed it.

Instead of allowing Hart’s fans to mope in disappointment, The Rock decided to represent his long-term friend in the interview.

Taking to Twitter, the well build actor wrote, “When my son Kevin Hart goes down with an injury, his big daddy steps in. I did leave my honeymoon early (Lauren approved cos she loves Kelly) and now me and Kelly are new best friends."

Those who have been following the relationship between the comedian and The Rock will know that friendly banter is usually their favourite way to communicate.

It therefore came out as quite hilarious that the actor referred to his friend - who is seven years his junior - as “my son”.

Having married his long-term friend Lauren Hashian on 18 August, the retired wrestler had only just begun enjoying the new marriage when disaster struck Hart.

The latest from TMZ is that Hart has had to undergo surgery to patch up his spine, which was injured in three places.

The comedian, who is still in excruciating pain, is set to undergo weeks of intense therapy.
