Rapper Riky Rick has joined the many voices that are crying out 'enough is enough' and demanding a better life for women and children in South Africa. He shared a heartfelt post on social media, asking men to shape up and show they are listening to the outcry.
For what is possibly the first time in South African history, the voices of women are being heard.
More women are speaking out about the abuse they suffer and men are speaking out, calling on their brothers to change.
It seems the tragic murder of Uyinene Mrwetyana has brought about a huge shift in Mzansi.
Now, Riky Rick has joined the many people who are asking men to show that they listen and care - the call is for men to change their behaviour.
Taking to social media, the rapper shared a touching message in which he asked men to start treating women with the love they've been deprived of for so long.
"Our sisters have had enough. Let's show that we are listening by doing everything we can to change. The way we act. The way we speak.
"We need to acknowledge their cries and take ownership of the role we have played. It's going to take time but if we act now we can ensure that our children grow up in a country where women are treated with the love and respect they have been deprived of for way too long."
Briefly.co.za noticed that his fans completely agreed with him, and thanked him for his words.
We as man should march and ask the government to take harsher sentences against us.let us take action against us cause we can write like we care and do the opposite.
I literally cried when I saw this! Thank you for your acknowledgement
Thank you for speaking up
