- A Capetonian community pulled together to help a young man
- The Grade 12 learner almost did not get to have his matric farewell
- However, residents in his community came together to give him the perfect night
On 28 August, a young man's school held their matric farewell. However, he almost did not attend because he did not have money for it.
Briefly.co.za learned that a Capetonian community pulled out all the stops to make his night memorable.
The story was shared on Kraalove's Facebook page last week and it inspired Mzansi.
"My words last night were: 'I really don't know what we're going to do, but I believe that God would provide for tomorrow and that we would make his day special," the admin of the page wrote in Afrikaans.
The person behind the page revealed that the community came through and that they could "help a family and put a smile on a young man's face".
"We managed to organise everything in a couple of hours," the post added
The post concluded:
"Thank you to everyone who played a role, I believe we can only build on this day. But above all, we give God all the honour because without Him, we could not have done it."
