Miss South Africa, Zozibini Tunzi, is not only inspiring women in Mzansi, but also across the sea as she makes a bold statement in the Big Apple.
Zozibini is there on business, to speak to leaders at the South African Consulate in New York as well as model designer outfits at the New York Fashion Week. The beauty queen took to Instagram to share a snap and tell of the wonderful experiences in the city of her dreams.
She wrote: "In the city of dreams! I had quite a morning spending time at the South African Consulate meeting with our country's ambassador. We had a very productive conversation with various members of the Consulate around what's happening in our country and how we can best serve the women of our nation. Was lovely to meet the vibrant @jensu1."
Besides attending important meetings like the one Zozibini attended at the SA Consulate with the SA ambassador, the beauty queen is also a hit at the New York Fashion Week catwalk as she modelled for the MaXhosa Africa show.
Anele Mdoda shared a snap of Zozibini on her Instagram saying: “You are your ancestors' wildest dreams…”
And Anele also wrote: "When you take a bite out of the Big Apple"
Meanwhile, earlier this week, Zozibini was left heartsore when she arrived in New York. This was supposed to be an experience of a lifetime and her first time ever out of South Africa, but the news about what was happening around Mzansi, with the struggle of women and increasing femicide going on here at home had her down.
She wrote: “This is me in Time Square, New York. My first time out of South Africa and I should be overjoyed but I am ridiculously torn. My heart is back home with all the women in this difficult time.”
Just over three weeks ago, Briefly.co.za reported that Zozibini Tunzi had barely won the Miss SA crown and already she's been a wonderful inspiration to Mzansi women. By embracing herself, she's teaching women to rock their natural hair with pride.
Zozibini Tunzi is already serving #goals, and she's barely been crowned Miss SA. TimesLIVE reported that the beauty sparked a movement that is inspiring women to embrace their natural hair, and it's a nationwide thing.
Zozibini has a natural beauty that is hard to deny and the way she's proud of herself is something that doesn't go unnoticed. She got crowned with her natural hair and this is serving as a serious inspiration to other women.
