After a long week of horror stories that have plagued Mzansi’s social media, from femicide, rape, murder and xenophobia, people have had enough.

The death of UCT student, Uyinene Mrwetyana sparked many battered and hurt women to come forward and stand up against abuse. Women took to social media to reveal their rape and physical abuse stories which have left female celebs, including TV personality, Lootlove, feeling helpless, disappointed and shook.

Lootlove took to Twitter to express how grateful she was for the #AmINext movement, which she believes helped “wake up women" to the fact that they were being violated but were to afraid to admit it.

“I’ve seen so many tweets from women who had no idea they were violated and realised through info on the TL. To those sharing knowledge about consent, and everything regarding sexual violation, thank you. What we learn from your pain (and I am sorry for that) we can teach to our kids.”

The media personality’s conversation saw women finding healing in each other as they shared their responses on social media.

Another note that Lootlove had made was the several tips given to women to keep them safe but asked when this would all end.
