- Social media users were impressed by the act of honesty
A man has shared a heartwarming story of honesty. He said that two petrol attendants tracked him down to repay him after they overcharged him at the petrol station.
Pieter Jacques Krugel shared his story on Facebook. When the petrol attendant realised that he accidentally entered the wrong amount into the credit card terminal of the BP garage in Somerset West, he went to the Somerset Police Station with the man's car registration number to try and get hold of him.
The police were able to trace the man's address and went to his house and asked him to go back to the service station.
When he arrived at the police station, he was greeted by Bongisisa and Brenden, the petrol attendants from BP. They apologised for the inconvenience and promptly reimbursed him.
The grateful man encouraged Mzansi to support the honest men. Social media users were impressed. Facebook user Rory Currin said:
"By far my favourite petrol station, the guys there are always friendly and we have a good chat and laugh!"
While Tertia Herholdt Steynberg said:
"Thumbs up to you for your integrity and honesty Bongisisa of BP, you are setting such a wonderful example!!!"
Patricia Dunlop said:
"These men have the strength of character that South Africa desperately needs ALL to have."
