Kaizer Chiefs attacker Khama Billiat did his bit to counter xenophobia in the country by sharing an uplifting biblical scripture.

Briefly.co.za gathered that the Zimbabwean is easily able to relate to the plight of foreign nationals within South Africa at this moment in time.

Billiat’s powerful message was shared via Twitter and included the hash tags, #SayNoToXenophobia and #africaweareone.

Briefly.co.za previously reported on the strong message shared by Kaizer Chiefs in response to xenophobia.

While Billiat’s message went viral, not everyone was singing his praises.

A large number of tweeps supported the calls for unity, but others validated the recent attacks.

EdmondRamolotja (@banksDJ_SA) said, “I personally don't have an issue with anyone from anywhere around the world or in the continent for that matter, guests can't dictate rules in my house respect my house and youll enjoy equal protection and safety.”
Mfundbomvu (@mfundbomvu) commented, “Focus on ur talented job that brought u here and stop telling us what we need to do in our country n we don't owe any explanation.”
Given Motha (@given310) added, “We refused to be called xenophobic for want my government to have a responsible emigration as we the south African want it.”
Floyd_B (@Floyd03124695) reacted, “Amen! We are all Africans; we need to treat each other with respect.”
Robbie Gracious Chavula (@RobbieMlowoka1) added, “Powerful quote! In other ways, those who perpetuate violence curse themselves and their nation! It's a shame to the nation.”
