Mzansi-born motivational speaker Mpumi Nobiva recently had the incredible US legend MC Hammer take to social media to congratulate her on receiving a Legacy Award at the 10th Annual Glide Legacy Gala.
Mpumi is an advocate for HIV/Aids all over the world. She sits on the Leadership Academy board as the representative for domestic violence and HIV/Aids in Mzansi and has spoken at some of the biggest events in the world, including at the White House.
Briefly.co.za learnt that Mpumi received a Legacy Award at the 10th Annual Glide Legacy Gala this past weekend. The event took place in San Francisco.
At the ripe age of nine Mpumi became an orphan when she lost her mother to HIV/Aids. Mpumi was lucky enough to be one of the 72 girls who made up the 2007 inauguration class of Oprah Winfrey's Leadership Academy for Girls; this opened many doors for her and allowed her to become the woman she is today.
MC Hammer was at the event and was moved by the work that Mpumi has done. A picture of the two was taken on the night and MC Hammer took to social media to share the snap along with some words of congratulations for Mpumi.
Da na na na na na - can't touch her!
