Barry Bateman is in hot water after referring to Julius Malema as a p**s following an interview with the EFF leader.
The incident gained a lot of attention from Mzansi, with the word trending on social media as South Africans gave their opinions.
In answer to a question posed by the EWN reporter, Julius Malema had commented that:
“Me, I'm not scared boet, uniform or no uniform, Afrikaner or no Afrikaner, white or pink, I deal with you decisively."
After this comment, Malema had ended the impromptu media briefing, at which point Bateman uttered the slur, a derogatory word for a female's reproductive organ, Briefly.co.za gathered.
EWN has profusely apologised for the incident, something the Economic Freedom Fighters rejected, calling for action to be taken.
In a statement the Red Beret's rejected the 'delayed lukewarm' apology, asking what would have happened if the party members present had retaliated after being provoked by the insult.
