- The South African Police Services has carried out yet another raid in Johannesburg

- This time, law enforcement targeted Dragon City on a hunt for counterfeit goods for sale by the area's vendors

- Luxury goods replicas of Rolexes, Louis Vuitton and Micheal Kors items were all found during the probe

SAPS has once again carried out raids in Johannesburg searching vendors for counterfeit items such as clothes, bags and even fake watches.

Briefly.co.za learned that law enforcement had recently pulled off a massive operation seeking to ensure vendors who sold fake items were taken to task.

This operation was on a seemingly smaller scale, but served to prove that the city was clamping down on illegal trade.

Following the previous raid in Joburg, numerous citizens had called for this merchant market to be next, with many believing stock originated in the area and flowed on to other vendors.

The area has been fraught with protests, some targeting businesses owned by foreign nationals. This had sparked retaliation from other nations in response to the xenophobia, with some African countries choosing to withdraw their citizens.
