As one of South Africa's biggest musicians, it's no wonder AKA has such a huge following. His fame reaches all over the globe and his actions are watched closely by public eyes.

Although he sometimes slips up, most of the time the rapper is out there making his Megacy proud of him.

Briefly.co.za takes a look at 7 of the biggest proud moments AKA gave his fans in 2019.

1. That time he made history at the DStv Seminar of Creativity

AKA showed off his mature side when he did a talk on urban culture at the DStv Seminar of Creativity, which was part of the Loeries Creative Week.

He made history as the first recording artist to do so. His talk, "AKA on Urban Culture: How brands can fit in and stand out", had his fans and followers beaming with respect and pride.

2. He has won awards, despite losing out a couple of times

AKA has been creamed in the past for being nominated but not winning many awards.

However, the rapper can proudly say he won the Best Pan African Artist of the Year Award at the Namibian Annual Music Awards.

He also scooped up the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award in LA - another big moment for him and his loyal followers.

3. He is aware of and appreciates the pain of others

AKA took to social media in remembrance of the 9/11 terrorist attack in New York on the day that the world remembered the tragic event.

He explained that he was staying just a few blocks away from the memorial site and planned to jog there, unfortunately, he couldn't get into the memorial site itself as it was closed.

On another occasion, AKA also shared his thoughts on some of the tragic shootings that plagued America.

4. His obvious love for his daughter and baby mama

Many fans think that AKA has really changed for the best ever since he and his baby mama, DJ Zinhle, reconciled. Mzansi has seen a softer side of him. He has been sharing cute snaps of him and his daughter, and shown less aggression and more subtle vibes.

AKA took to his Instagram account to send a shout-out to his love, DJ Zinhle, with the cutest snap of the two of them. He also captioned the post with the sweetest message.

AKA wrote: "I LOVE YOU. #Umlilo drops TOMORROW."

That, and the adorable snap of him and Kairo having fun while vacationing in Mauritius is enough to convince any sceptic that the rapper is actually a family man at heart.

5. AKA defended Emtee against trolls

If there was one moment when the rapper's fans practically screamed 'You tell those haters!', it was when he came to fellow rapper, Emtee's defence.

The younger muso was supposed to have an innocent Q&A session between fans and him but it turned into a trap for insulting questions. AKA wasn't having any of that.

6. Channel O had 'Levels Day' in his honour

Channel O honoured AKA a while ago by making one day a 'Levels Day' to celebrate his contribution to music.

How cool is that? The day was also a way to give a nod at AKA's 7 x platinum Levels album.

7. AKA's album, Levels, went 7x platinum status

The album is considered a classic body of work that will continue to be celebrated for many more years. It was a major milestone for the rapper, and he couldn't have done it without his proud fans.

The year isn't even over yet and already AKA has done a lot to keep his fans happy and looking up to him.
