- Mzansi singer, Chad da Don, reflected on his horror car crash on SABC 3's Afternoon Express show with Jeannie D earlier this week
- Chad spoke about how he believed the accident had changed his perspective on life
- The singer said he has learnt to be grateful for all that he has
Mzansi muso, Chad da Don, said life has never been the same since his horror car crash two years ago.
Briefly.co.za learnt that Chad was travelling alone in his tour bus when he temporarily lost control of his vehicle and veered off the road.
The muso suffered serious injuries – Chad’s ribs were damaged and he was rushed to the hospital.
Chad opened up about the incident earlier this week when he spoke to Afternoon Express’s Jeannie D. He said his life changed after that moment and believed he was spared because he has a bigger purpose.
“The craziest thing is you don’t actually feel the fear when it is done, because it has happened. I just woke up in a lot of pain, that is all I remember. Your fear kind of disappears because you realise what life means now. You have been through this traumatic thing but you are alive and you have to be grateful for what you have.”
Months after the crash, Chad revealed on DJ Sabby’s YFM show that his life had flashed before his eyes and he said he was lucky to have gotten off with the injuries he had, as it could have been much worse.
“It taught me to respect my life more. It can be gone in a second. When you are in an accident and it happens so quickly like that, it really is a life changer. I could have broken my pelvis or legs and never walked again. That is why you just respect things more. You only get one shot at it.”
Meanwhile, some weeks ago, Briefly.co.za reported that word on the street is that singers Kelly Khumalo and Chad da Don broke up - once again. At the time, neither of them had confirmed that they were no longer together, but fans were worried.
If there is one couple that is more than confusing than AKA and DJ Zinhle have been, it's Kelly Khumalo and Chad da Don. They've been through their ups and downs and just when we thought they'd gotten things sorted and were living happily together, rumour had it they'd split up. Again.
As far as Briefly.co.za could tell, neither of them had said anything about a break-up, but that didn't mean there was no truth to the rumour.
