South Africans react to latest crime statistics: "This is worrying"

South Africans are not happy with the state of crime in Mzansi. The latest crime statistics have been released by the SAPS and things are not looking good. Dissatisfied locals took to social media to voice their concerns.

Briefly.co.za reported that more than 20 000 people were murdered in the last year. Many social media users felt that the government was not doing enough to improve the disturbing crime levels in the country. Facebook user Erick Mabuela said:

"He must start with his office to clean. And please check their matric and licences. Plus criminal record."

While Michael van Zyl said:

"I would like to point out that these stats are outdated by 6 months according to E-news."

"A total of 21,022 South Africans were murdered between April 2018 and March this year, while 52,420 were victims of sexual offences. This is worrying indeed! Deploy capable, skilled police officials. Importantly, each local station should have a Criminologist!"

The crime stats also revealed that an alarmingly large number of children were responsible for murders.
