- Julius Malema paid another tribute to Robert Mugabe on Wednesday
- The EFF leader posted a video of Mugabe's body arriving in Zimbabwe
- The post divided social media users and we took a look at some of the reactions
The late Robert Mugabe's body finally touched down in Zimbabwe on Wednesday after he passed away in a hospital in Singapore.
While his death largely divided the world, Julius Malema was among those who paid tribute to the "son of the soil".
After news broke of his passing, Malema called on Mzansi and other African countries to protect Mugabe's legacy.
And, on Wednesday, the EFF leader once again paid tribute to the late former Zimbabwean president by posting a video of his body arriving back home.
"Harare came to a standstill as Zimbabweans salute the Son Of The Soil, Cde President RG Mugabe. We know our leaders. #RIPMugabe #ASIJIKI," he captioned the video.
The post divided social media users - some said people were not saluting Mugabe but celebrating his death. However, others agreed with Juju that Uncle Bob was a true African leader.
Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za previously reported that Mugabe had banned his successor, Emmerson Mnangagwa, from his funeral.
Signalling his disapproval for his long-time ally from beyond the grave, Mugabe has also insisted on being buried in his home village Kutama, not in the Heroes Acre in Harare.
