- Mzansi dubbed the residences "squatta camps" and slammed the poor conditions students had to live in
South Africans were left shocked over the alleged poor conditions of the homes students reside in off-campus in KwaZulu-Natal.
On Tuesday, Twitter parody account Man's Not Barry Roux posted several photos of off-campus student housing on the social media platform.
"These are some of the student residences in University of Zululand off campus," the photos were captioned.
Briefly.co.za gathered the images sparked a massive reaction and Mzansi dubbed the housing "squatta camps" in the comment section.
Some felt sorry for the students while others said they deserved it for voting ANC.
Twitter user, @GENNOTO130, wrote: "@MYANC government does not care at all... Dammit...@CyrilRamaphosa is weak indeed white are using him for self_enrichment and not to see what's happening on the other side of the dignity of the students of South Africa and that of the education."
Social media user, @Landless_Native, commented: "Majority of the people In KZN are ANC they’re used to this otherwise they would have voted differently...so let them whither away in poverty they chose this life."
