A young man, Eloff Vermeulen, has warmed the hearts of social media users across South Africa.

A video which was posted on Paarl Boys' High School's Facebook page shows Vermeulen helping an elderly lady cross the street safely while carrying her shopping bags for her.

"GOOD IS COOL! Greatly done Eloff Vermeulen! We are proud of you! #boishaai #goodiscool #strongmenhavedeeproots," the post read in Afrikaans.

The video reached over 23 000 views since it was posted on social media and Mzansi flooded the comment section with praise for the teen.

Hansie Barnard commented: "Be curious about your surroundings and see where you can be kind! Pride. Man up."
Marita Nieuwoudt Pieterse wrote in Afrikaans: "It's not the first time that I saw a Paarl Boys' High pupil doing this. And no, I do not have a son there. But, if I did have a son, he would have been there."
Marlize van der Berg added: "I would have given the parents of this an precious boy an applause! Manners and behaviour like this starts at home. Well done!"
