Mzansi helps starving children after mother allegedly abandons home

Mzansi social media users have rallied behind a teenager who reached out for help after her mother abandoned them. The 17-year-old girl claimed that she and her 10-year old sister were starving after their mother left them to marry another man.

Twitter user Liyema_Mneno shared her heartbreaking story on social media. And it immediately caught the attention of Mzansi social media users. The post read:

"I'm 17 & doing Matric.I stay alone with my 10 year old sister whom I have to be a parent to. Mama got married to another man & she moved to live with him earlier this year. Mama works but all the money goes to rent. Her husband doesnt work at all. My lil'sis & I starve for weeks"

Many reached out to try and help her. Some offered to buy her groceries while others offered to send her a monthly contribution to keep her going. A few other social media users suggested that she get in touch with the department of social development. Twitter user Ingrid_moema said:

"Please DM your location and 10digits to send you something to buy food"

While MadRabzee said:

"I just got a job, starting on the first, dm me, every 25th I'll give you R250 starting on the 25th of September"

ForeverMihlali said:

"Baby love reach out to social workers they can definitely help you but do not, I repeat do not give out your address to anyone who is asking you to send it in the sake of "help" this world is to cruel especially you being 17 and your younger sister 10 living by yourselves!"
