Dololo trust: Mbeki's bodyguard caught on video switching his water

On Tuesday, a video was shared on Twitter which shows Thabo Mbeki's security guard taking extra measures to ensure his safety.

Briefly.co.za gathered that the while the crowd shouted "long live president Thabo Mbeki" and "Viva ANC", the bodyguard was seen switching the water of the former head of state.

The video was posted on Kgaugelo S. Wa Lecowza's Twitter page and it gathered over 79 000 views in less than a day.

"Thabo Mbeki's bodyguard switching water bottles earlier in KZN. Things tend to happen when you least expect down there so better be safe than sorry," the caption read.

South Africans were divided by the footage; some found it hilarious while others said it was sad that leaders do not trust their own cadres.

Twitter user, @SpheDludla, commented: "Leaders who do not trust their cadres in their own movement. SMH."
Another tweep, @HulisaniRananga, added: "Maybe this is the trick that has helped keep him alive til now."
Social media user, @hills007, wrote: "Water in that province has turned out to be a 'weapon of messy destruction'. Good on the bodyguard for not trusting the cadres."
