- AmaZulu confirmed the appointment of Jozef Vukusic as new head coach on Wednesday
- The news followed the sacking of former coach Cavin Johnson as Usuthu are languishing in 16th spot on the PSL log
- The Slovakian previously coached in the PSL when he mentored Polokwane City last season
Briefly.co.za previously reported that former Free State Stars coach Luc Eymael was being linked with the AmaZulu head coach position as Cavin Johnson was under threat.
However, Golden Arrows coach Steve Komphela pleaded with South African clubs not to appoint the Belgian.
Komphela's wish was granted as AmaZulu confirmed the appointment of Jozef Vukusic instead.
The Slovakian takes over from Johnson following a dismal start to the season, with Usuthu languishing in 16th spot on the Premier Soccer League (PSL) log.
The 55-year-old mentor will need to turn things around quickly as the KZN-based club are still winless from five matches this season.
Vukusic is no stranger to the PSL as he coached Polokwane City last season as he guided them to a respectable fifth place finish.
He brings with him a wealth of experience as he previously coached across Europe and in Libya.
