Thami Shobede's death shocked us all - the Idols SA runner-up passed away at the age of 31 after a sudden illness.
Briefly.co.za reported that Thami collapsed while performing on stage at the weekend and we remembered the times he blew us away with his talent.
Thami's family, friends and fans gathered at the Assemblies of God to bid him farewell.
TimesLIVE reports that emotions ran really high when a letter from his mother was read.
'I'll forever praise God for giving me a son like you."
"I know you had big dreams and goals to achieve but it was God (who took you from us). You are still with us. You will give me the power and energy and blessing to do everything that you wanted to do for us. I will do my best to fulfil your goals."
"You were my friend and you took care of your siblings. I will forever praise God for giving me a son like you. Go well, my son. Heaven has gained an angel. Rest well. I love you."
Thami's sister also had people feeling emotional with her address. She said she will always love her brother and keep him in her heart.
