- EFF Deputy President Floyd Shivambu has been accused of dipping into VBS funds to pay for his luxury vehicle
- Shivambu posted to social media denying the claims, blasting the journalists who released the allegations
- However, some in Mzansi are calling on Floyd to prove his innocence and reveal the receipts for the Range Rover
Floyd Shivambu has clapped back at the Mail & Guardian journalists who released an adverse report against him.
Briefly.co.za reported that Shivambu had been accused of using looted VBS funding to purchase a luxury Range Rover Sport.
In a post to social media, Shivambu defended himself against the allegations, commenting that:
"Despite illustration that the car I own was bought through a trade in of a car financed long before any VBS and that the difference paid is nowhere close to the R1 million, the Foolish M&G stooge Journalists still write lies of Werkmans & Bernard Hotz (Pauli van Wyk’s friend)."
While some sided with Shivambu, condemning the claims, many felt the whole debacle could be resolved by Floyd himself.
Calls abounded for the EFF deputy to share the paperwork from the transaction to prove his innocence.
Take a look at some responses to the situation below:
