- A woman nearly had a wedding disaster when her bridesmaids' dresses were too big
- However, she said a "true angel" came to her rescue
- Sbonelo Madlala, who works as a receptionist, fixed the dresses before the big day
A woman, Madelé Nelson, nearly had her wedding ruined when her four bridesmaids' dresses came out completely wrong.
"This guy saved the day, a walk to reception in distress as four bridesmaid dresses were three sizes too big," she said.
Sbonelo Madlala, an aspiring fashion designer who works as a receptionist, came to her rescue.
Briefly.co.za gathered that the night before Nelson's wedding, Madlala took the dresses to his sewing machine.
Nelson added in her post: "20.30 at night in a cold Midlands Sbonelo Madlala made his way down with his sewing machine to save four bridesmaids' dresses on the eve before the wedding, with a smile, and even entertained us with his music."
The happy bride shared the story in an attempt to give Madlala some exposure.
"He studied and worked as an intern at a retail clothing chain store and gave up his career to return home and look after his ill mother. He is currently a receptionist in the midlands, but has a true passion for fashion design and seamstress work. He is extremely talented, a kind soul and a true angel! Thank you for saving the day Sbonelo, may God bless your road ahead!
"What a wonderful country we live in, South Africans caring for one another above and beyond! #bettertogether."
Madlala responded to Nelson's post, thanking her for all the praise.
Madlala commented: "Thank you so so much I really appreciate your words and it was the least I could do I'm literally in tears of joy now I'm so glad I could help out and once again thank you so much God bless you."
South Africans were inspired by the story and they praised both Nelson for sharing it and Madlala for saving the day.
Cathy Pistorius added: "This is the SA that will survive... Goodwill and respect."
Sue Rothquel wrote: "Fantastic. Well done for saving the day. Sbonelo. You have great talent."
Cathy Waters said: "God sent you one of His angels to save the day."
