- A man thanked Checkers on social media on Monday. Gerry Van Niekerk collapsed in the grocery store. Checkers staff rushed to his aid and helped him.
On Monday, Gerry van Niekerk took to his Facebook page to share how grateful he was to Checkers staff members.
He revealed that he was grocery shopping the previous Wednesday when he felt unwell.
"I suddenly didn't feel well, stretched out my hand for help to a lady next to me in the queue," he wrote on Facebook.
Briefly.co.za gathered that van Niekerk collapsed after blacking out. He revealed he woke up as the staff and customers rushed to his aid.
"I remember waking up as staff and customers let me sip some apple juice and fed me yoghurt. God bless you my earthly and heavenly angels. There are good people out there and I hope that this story will encourage someone," he wrote.
Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za reported previously that another restaurant employee saved a man's life. A Chick-Fil-A employee, Tauya Nenguke, saved a man's life with his quick thinking. The chain restaurant took to Facebook to praise Nenguke for being a hero.
