- South African rapper, Moozlie, admitted that she 'glamourises' the fact that she is an independent artist
- She added that she's not doing it to hide anything, but because she truly believes in herself
- Moozlie pointed out that artists who are with a record label don't own the music they worked so hard to make
For many artists, the ultimate dream is going on their own, doing their thing and making their own rules.
That's not possible for everyone, but those who are independent would definitely recommend it to others.
One such artist is Moozlie, who said she knows she's been 'glamourising' being independent but only because she believes in herself.
The successful rapper took to social media to share her opinion on what it's like being 'indie' and Briefly.co.za gathered that she's loving every minute of it.
"I think I’m a bit guilty of glamourising independence. Not because I’m tryna hide anything, but because I really believe in myself & I’m just tryna stay positive."
However, Moozlie knows that not everyone can be independent.
"With that being said, being independent isn’t for everyone. A lot of artists thrive with a team that does almost everything but make the music for them."
Apparently, for Moozlie, the best thing about working for yourself is that you own the music you worked on.
"You can’t make any important decisions. You don’t even own the music you put your heart and soul into."
