A woman has shared a wonderful story about how her cleaning lady managed to get a better job by taking initiative and being willing to help others. The former domestic worker now works as a receptionist in a medical practice.

Tertia Labuschagne-Janse van Rensburg took to Facebook to share the story of how she worked as a receptionist for a doctor a few years ago. When she needed to go on leave for almost two weeks, they struggled to find a replacement. Her domestic worker happened to find out that they were looking for someone and she offered to try and do the job.

"I gave her a chance, and she succeeded! Our practice grew and shortly after I asked my bosses to employ her."

The woman is now fully employed and manages the daily diaries.

"Because of her, I can work from home twice a week to do the billing, etc while she manages the office."

She then added that the woman recently celebrated her birthday so she wished her a happy birthday and had some treats delivered to the office.

Social media users were inspired by the sweet story. Facebook user Ria Calitz said:

"Just see what skills lay dormant in her! And she made the most of this opportunity. And you were instrumental in putting her on the road to success! Way to go!"
