Earlier this month, Aleeyah Ahmed shared the inspiring story of 18-year-old Ricollin Moodley on #ImStaying's Facebook page.

Briefly.co.za learned that Moodley is a self-taught artist who uses the money he generates with his passion to support his family.

Ahmed revealed Moodley started drawing on the back of used library pages and from the age of 16, he sold his artworks to feed the family.

"Today he is 18 years old and his art has put him through school, fed his siblings, bought medication for me, his mum, he has and still is paying his siblings' school transport to school, which is plus minus 100km daily to and from school," Ahmed wrote in the post.

Ahmed posted several photos of Moodley's works of art and they are truly breathtaking. The 18-year-old is clearly talented and has never had any formal art training.

Ahmed, who is Moodley's parent, revealed the family had gone through the most but they have found a reason to stay in Mzansi.

"We have been homeless, been through crime, etc and through this all we found a reason to stay in South Africa, so today I know someone out there is reading this and needs a reason, let 18-year-old Ricollin Moodley give you hope through his life. South Africa is home."
