Tuesday night presented another momentous occasion for Mzansi as one of our own starred in the UEFA Champions League.

Percy Tau's side, Club Brugge, put in a brave performance as they drew 2-2 against Real Madrid, with the Bafana Bafana forward playing a crucial role.

Bafana Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki has lauded Tau's efforts and feels that all South Africans should take pride in Tau's display.

Tau provided a classy assist for Brugge's first goal and made an important run to free up Emmanuel Dennis for the second.

Ntseki said, “Seeing Percy playing in the Uefa Champions League at the Santiago Bernabéu‚ was a proud moment for the country.”

TimesLIVE reported that the Bafana mentor was impressed with various aspects of Tau's game on Tuesday.

Ntseki added, “He was leading in the pressure and his attitude was good and his mentality going into that game was spot-on."

Briefly.co.za also gathered that Ntseki admired Tau's selflessness for the first goal and his clever runs into space.

The Bafana mentor feels that Tau can now be regarded as among the best in the world.

SowetanLIVE reported that various European media outlets agreed with some of Ntseki's sentiments as they rated him 7 out of 10 for his performance.

The overall assessment was that Tau was mesmerising in the first half, but ran out of steam during the second period.
