ThickLeeyonce has been living her best life in 2019. The plus-size model and photographer has hustled hard to turn her dreams into reality.
Being plus-size comes with a lot of difficulties, especially when you are in the public eye. ThickLeeyonce somehow manages to stay strong and slay on.
Briefly.co.za knows what a total inspiration ThickLeeyonce is to, not only plus-size women but all women.
Talking to TshisaLIVE, ThickLeeyonce expressed how incredible 2019 has been for her career.
“Honestly I feel like 2019 is it! It’s been such a kind year. I’m overflowing with gratitude. I realised that my brand was getting the recognition it deserved when I started working with brands that I've always dreamt of working with,” explained ThickLeeyonce.
ThickLeeyonce has seen her vision come alive and could not be more grateful for all the opportunities she has been given. Things did not just fall into her lap though, ThickLeeyonce worked damn hard for every blessing she’s received.
Having had her body posted all over Mzansi for whomever to see has definitely made it a lot more challenging for ThickLeeyonce to be seen as a career woman, and not just a plus-size model.
The body-positive activist has found that when people bring up her name they instantly refer to her body when really all she wants them to do is talk about her as “an awesome creative content creator”.
ThickLeeyonce’s plus-size modelling career taught her a lot and has allowed her to face challenges head-on, and believe in herself more than ever before, and for that, she is forever grateful.
Having worked on over 15 campaigns this year alone - of which three were huge international campaigns - ThickLeeyonce’s ready to take on 2020!
