Several photos have been circulated on social media showing an officer getting his hands dirty to help a woman stuck on the side of the road.

Ulrich Janse van Vuuren was one of the people who shared the heart-warming moment.

"This hero Metro officer was spotted today helping this lady along a busy road. This is the South Africa we know and love. Pics via Kushie Pietersen on FB," he captioned the post.

The officer got a lot of love on social media and Mzansi proudly gave him the title of 'Hero'.

Henry Mbih commented: "The officer's professionalism is example for other officers to follow. This officer deserves a reward to encourage him and others. Officer, may God bless and keep you so that you are example."
Bruno Moja wrote: "Passion of road safety is the motto of that great officer.To protect and serve the community. You need indondo my leadership. You have led by example. May God bless you."
