Since she did not have the funds herself, Mzulwini turned to Afribiz - a company owned by Collen Mashawana, who is famous for his kind heart.
The businessman took to his Facebook page to gush about Mzulwini's efforts to help those close to her.
He wrote in his post:
"I take off my hat to 22-year-old Mandisa Mzulwini from Folweni township, who contacted us countless times to intervene in helping her neighbour with a decent home. I am also humbled that our housing appeal programme was chosen to take her wishes of making a difference further.
"We encourage every community member to do same as every little step counts. A simple thing such as buying them a few bags of cement, a bed, a door frame or help in repairing a roof can be just what is needed for a better life."
