A video of a homeless woman singing beautifully has gone viral on social media. The footage has left many social media users wondering who she is and how she ended up on the streets.

The video has received over 1 million views with many praising her stunning vocals. It was recorded on a subway in LA, America. Some social media users recognised her from the streets as she has been there for years. One social media user named Eva Smith identified the woman as Emily Zamourka. Emily apparently grew up in Russia and dreamed of being a singer, however, a run of bad fortune saw land on the streets.

"I’ve seen her for years on the Metro. I heard her once singing “Ave Maria” and thought it was a radio at first. Everyone has a story...this woman does too. I don’t know why she’s been homeless all these years, but she’s a human being...that’s all that matters"

"Every homeless person isn’t dirty. Some take pride in their appearance and actually manage to keep themselves decent despite their circumstances. You can tell this woman is somebody based on her talent and exterior appearance. I hope things improve for her"
