Shimza, Black Coffee and Prince Kaybee bag wins at Dance Music Awards

Three of Mzansi’s big musos, DJ Shimza, DJ Black Coffee and Prince Kaybee, scooped wins at the South African Dance Music Awards last night.

DJ Shimza bagged two prizes in the glitzy ceremony. His ‘One Man Show’ won the Best Festival category, and he also walked away with the Best Male DJ award.

Shimza took to Twitter after the ceremony to share a snap of him posing with his two trophies.

Shimza’s rival, Prince Kaybee, also took home the House Record of the Year award for ‘Fetch Your Life’.

Prince Kaybee and Nasty C have also been nominated for Best African Act award at the MTV European Music Awards.

Earlier today, Prince Kaybee announced that he has been nominated four times in the Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards 2019. He thanked the artists that he collaborated with who have helped make this possible.

Meanwhile, DJ Black Coffee continues to dominate this year after winning in the Best Album category, and Black Motion won the Best Live Act category.

Other winners:

DJ Buhle won Best Female DJ and Simmy took home the prize for Best Female Vocalist.

Distruction Boyz bagged the award for Best Gqom Record of the Year for ‘Amaxoki’ featuring DJ Tira.

DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small walked away with Best Amapiano Record of the Year for their song, ‘Amantombazane’ with Samthing Soweto.
