Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Lucky Khune may have taken a step down when he started playing in the ABC Motsepe League, but his performances for Baberwa FC have been noticed.
Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt signalled his interest in the player when he invited Khune to train with his team.
It's been reported that Hunt has been very impressed by the striker and is now keen to sign him when the January transfer window opens.
KickOFF.com reported that Baberwa FC chairman Joe Seanego revealed Hunt's interest in signing the player.
Seanego told KickOFF, "He trained with them for two weeks at the beginning of last month, and they are interested in him for the January window."
Briefly.co.za understands that Khune has taken a unique step and excused himself from football in the interim as he focuses on his transport business.
However, Khune is "super fit" according to Seanego.
