She was featured in Ubizo (The Calling), the 2007 SABC1 supernatural miniseries. From March to April 2009, the veteran actress appeared in Hopeville, the SABC2 miniseries as MaDolly. Mhlongo was among the cast members in Comatose, a 2016 film that had Africa’s elite actors like Bimbo Akintola. The purpose of the film was to portray the message that it is acceptable to lose an unconscious loved one. She appeared in the 2017 sports movie the River in a supporting capacity.
