- Former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo has pledged his support for coach Rhulani Mokwena
- Khuzwayo feels that Mokwena is the right man for the job and pleaded for fans to be patient
- Mokwena has only managed one victory in his seven matches in charge
Retired Buccaneers goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo has leapt to the defence of under-fire coach Rhulani Mokwena.
Pressure has been slowly mounting on Mokwena as Pirates find themselves languishing in eight spot on the Absa Premiership log.
Since taking over from Micho Sredojevic, Mokwena has only mustered one victory in seven attempts.
However, the Daily Sun reported that Khuzwayo feels that Mokwena is the right man for the job and has called for patience.
Khuzwayo said, “I just hope the club is going to be patient with him and give him enough time and support so that he can show what he is capable off.”
He added, “Mokwena is a good coach and very intelligent guy. I do believe that things will, at some points improve.”
Briefly.co.za gathered that Mokwena's inability to stick to a core starting 11 is a cause for concern for many fans.
Pirates finished as runners-up during the past two seasons and many felt that this would be their year.
Many football followers will feel that anything less than challenging for the title should be deemed a failure.
