Former Mamelodi Sundowns star Bongani Zungu celebrated his 27th birthday on Wednesday and to help him celebrate, Briefly.co.za shares five facts about the midfield general.

Bongani Zungu turns 27 and the Bafana Bafana ace is carving out a very successful football career.

Briefly.co.za joins in the birthday celebration by sharing 5 important facts about the former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder.

Zungu joined the University of Pretoria at the beginning of the 2012/ 2013 campaign and helped them achieve a respectable 8th place finish in the Absa Premiership.

Due to his obvious talent, he was then quickly snapped up by Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of that season.

Zungu then left the Brazilians during 2016 as he signed for Portuguese outfit Vitória de Guimarães.

Since 2017, the midfielder has been playing for Amiens SC in France's Ligue 1.

Zungu made his Bafana debut on 17 August 2013 against Burkina Faso and scored his debut international goal later that year against Lesotho.

The resilient player survived a hijacking incident in 2014, but the criminals got away with his vehicle.
