Cardi B has taken a spot on the judging panel of the new Netflix reality TV competition, Rhythm + Flow. Much to many people’s surprise, Cardi B has turned out to be one of the most caring and dedicated judges.

Rhythm + Flow is much like Idols, but instead of looking for the next mainstream pop star, the search for the next big hip-hop name is on like Donkey Kong.

Briefly.co.za learnt that Cardi B sits alongside T.I. and Chance the Rapper on the judging panel. The winner will walk away with a cash prize of $250 000 (around R3.7 million) and a slot at a major Spotify gig; the stakes are large.

Contestants are put through a round of auditions and the chosen ones then move onto the battle rounds, where they will also be given tasks to complete to prove their worthiness as the next big hip-hop superstar.

Cardi B has shown a side of her in this competition that not many have seen. When reviewing contestants' auditions, Cardi B showed a lot of empathy, consideration and genuine interest.

Netflix will be dropping batches of episodes weekly. Hip-hop big-shot, Snoop Dogg, and contemporary R&B fable, John Legend, are just some of the music moguls who will appear on the show.

Rhythm + Flow is definitely a new take on the whole talent show thing, but Netflix is hoping it will take off and save the movement.
