- A man has become the talk of a small town in KZN after he was spotted with a snake around his neck
- The snake looked comfortable wrapped around the man and wasn't behaving threateningly
- He drew a crowd of fascinated and nervous by-standers
A scrap metal vendor has left jaws on the ground after he was spotted carrying what looks like a green mamba around his neck. The man was seen walking with the two-metre-long snake in a small town in the South Coast of KZN.
In a video shared on social media, the vendor is seen pushing a bakkie from the premises. At first one can't spot the snake, but as he approaches the cameraman, Krushen Pillay, the 'mamba' becomes visible on camera.
According to the South Coast Herald, many were fascinated by why the snake was not biting or attacking him. When asked, the man responded that he had raised the snake since it was little.
According to Pillay, the man attracted a large crowd of people who were in disbelief but fascinated by his bravery.
Briefly.co.za previously reported that a Black Mamba that killed a German shepherd dog was captured in Verulam recently. Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) members were called out to a home after the owner found their dog attempting to kill the snake.
The snake was injured but managed to bite the dog. According to RUSA spokesperson Prem Balram, professional snake catcher Jason Arnold was called to the home. He bravely removed the poisonous snake from the home. The bitten dog died shortly afterwards.
