Meanwhile, five days ago, Briefly.co.za reported that while Prince Kaybee was celebrating his win at the glitzy South African Dance Music Awards, which honour DJs and musos for their work, a misunderstood “tweet” caught the eye of social media tolls.
Mzansi musos, Prince Kaybee and Msaki, bagged the House Record of the Year award for Fetch Your Life. While celebrating his victory, Prince Kaybee and his team landed themselves in hot water for failing to acknowledge Msaki, the vocalist who actually penned the hit song.
During the acceptance speech, Prince Kaybee’s booking manager did not mention Msaki, and when the DJ shared the video of the speech on social media (which he later deleted), he also did not mention Msaki or correct the initial mishap.
