Errol Spencer Jr was involved in a terrible car crash that has landed the welterweight champion in the hospital. The US fighter was allegedly driving at maximum speed without his seatbelt.
It is understood that the American fighter was driving at full speed and was believed not to have been using his seatbelt when he crashed his Ferrari in Dallas.
Reports claim the 29-year-old in his Ferrari flipped multiple times and then had the horrible collision in the early hours of Wednesday, 10 October.
Spence Jr is now in the intensive care unit and police say the driver is expected to survive the serious accident.
A Dallas Police statement said: “At 2:53am a Ferrari travelling at a high rate of speed northbound in the 500 S. Riverfront Blvd.
"The Ferrari veered left over the centre median onto the southbound lanes and flipped multiple times ejecting the driver who was not wearing a seatbelt.”
The unbeaten welterweight champion posted a video to his Instagram story earlier in the night showing a pal dancing in a nightclub.
He has won all of his 26 fights, with 21 coming by the way of knockout, and is the reigning IBF and WBC champion. He recently defeated Shawn Porter via unanimous decision.
