Earlier this month, a man shared heart-warming videos of the SAPS honouring one of their own on his birthday.

On 3 October, Llewellyn de Vries gushed about the police force surprising a young policeman with a cake on his birthday.

De Vries captioned the post:

"Last night I got to reflect on what it was like being a young policeman back in the day! We had the opportunity to celebrate a special young man's birthday.
"As you all know, with being a cop, we are never certain whether we might return home or not so when we get to celebrate special events, we do so and capture that memory to take us through the days when things are not so easy for us combating crime!
"I am proud of this young constable who has an exceptional level of discipline and a soft nature in his approach but a true stand-up guy and someone I see climbing the ranks very soon! Happy birthday Constable Butana! May the road rise to meet you wherever you go!!!"
