Random acts of kindness: Good Samaritan pays for lady's groceries

A woman was left confused and in disbelief when a Good Samaritan paid for her groceries recently. She was at the cashier's till when the man offered to pay for her.

BI Phakathi shared the video of the interaction on social media. In the footage, Phakathi can be seen standing behind a woman in a queue. He briefly chats to her before offering to pay for her groceries.

Initially the woman can't believe what she's hearing and Phakathi has to insist several times. Eventually the stunned woman agrees and thanks him profusely.

The woman and supermarket staff wondered who Phakathi was and if he was a well-known celebrity. Social media users were impressed by the random act of kindness. Facebook user Waisea Vusonitokalau said:

"The more he takes care of the needs of the people.JESUS than opens the heavens and fill his account more and more. He is a ANGEL."

While Rex Mukompe said:

"I've no words to say my dear, what you're doing to poor people God will surely bless you, and may the Almighty God add more years in yours life, l live in Zambia but I always watch what you do for the poor people there, you' re a true inspiration for sure, God bless you once again."

Freddy Langa said:

"More blessed is the hand that gives than the hand that receives. You are blessed, period."
